An engineer representing the consultant team introduced proposed revisions to the parish drainage ordinance and urged the council to publicize the draft so developers and residents can review major changes before final adoption.
Brooke Newland of Finstermaker (standing in for Dax Duet) told the committee the revisions focus on improving specifications for drainage impact analysis and development regulations. She said the only substantive change since council members saw an earlier draft was updating the design storm reference to the latest Atlas 14 rainfall data.
Council members asked that the draft be posted on the parish website and on social media to increase transparency. Planning staff said the Phase‑1 public survey closes the second week of September but will remain open into later phases so residents can continue to submit feedback. Several members noted the revisions represent a significant overhaul of standards and suggested side meetings with staff to digest technical impacts before final adoption.
