Superintendent outlines summer facilities projects, staff ID policy and new advisory council

Superintendent Jennifer Dunn reported multiple operational and programmatic items during the July 9 meeting. She said heating and cooling work, window replacement and locker repairs are underway and anticipated to be completed by late September. Dunn highlighted community partnerships supporting students, including a loneliness grant and a work-based learning grant aligned with the Town of Webb master plan.
Dunn told the board the district will require all employees to wear district identification badges visibly while in the building as part of its safety plan, and the district is revising dismissal procedures. She also said cellphone-policy violations are now required to be submitted to NYSED. On academics and student engagement, the district plans professional development (including an update to the physics curriculum), continued work on the state’s 'Portrait of a Graduate,' and the formation of a Superintendent’s Advisory Council to involve students in projects and governance learning.
Dunn and a colleague attended an administrators’ retreat and served on panels; the district will review and update attendance policies and extracurricular handbooks in advance of the 2026–27 school year.
