Superintendent: tech-ed wing on track for Sept. 11 completion; FEMA appeal pending

Superintendent Aaron updated the board on construction and federal grant status, saying the tech ed and agriculture classrooms should be ready for the school year and the district is targeting Friday, September 11 for full completion of the new wing.
"So we're targeting, Friday, September 11 for full completion of that wing," Aaron said, adding that some floors still need stripping and waxing and certain labs will open shortly after. He also told the board that the district filed an appeal with FEMA Region 5 and staff are awaiting confirmation of when the 90-day review clock started.
Board members asked for updates when the FEMA response arrives; no new schedule changes were announced at the meeting.
