Young & Wright Architectural updated the board on the current emergency capital project at Eden Elementary: a full roof replacement with a 20‑year warranty and interior repairs to the auditorium and stage.
"I'm Mike McCarthy with Young and Wright Architectural," Mike McCarthy told the board as he introduced the project team and scope. Contractor updates said about half of the scheduled roof work has been replaced to date and all interior work required for this season is complete; remaining work will resume in warmer weather next spring. The team described bid-process milestones: "Bid day will be on March 3 when we open bids, and then will these go contractors write the letter of recommendation for the board, and you guys hopefully approve the contracts on March 16," one presenter said.
The presentation also outlined alternates for additional parking-lot and auditorium work, and managers said construction will be phased over two summers with project closeout targeted for next December.
