The athletics presenter told the board Eden offered 14 winter teams across varsity, JV and modified levels and that roughly 30% of students participated during the winter season, noting the rate is lower than fall and spring because fewer sports are offered in winter. He highlighted academic success — seven of eight varsity teams earned scholar-athlete recognition for maintaining 90 or higher averages across 75% of team members — and outlined team results: varsity cheer earned first-place finishes at Gowanda and Fredonia competitions; the wrestling team won its division and placed first at the ECIC tournament and qualified for the dual state tournament.
Senior wrestler Bryce Delapenta addressed the board about what Eden athletics has meant to him. "My name is Bryce Delapenta. I'm a senior here at Eden...throughout my middle school and high school career, wrestling has helped me grow so much as a person and has given me many friends," he said, and he thanked coaches and the board for their continued support. The athletics presenter said the season's successes reflect years of consistency and community support.
