The superintendent provided an update on capital-project planning and construction activity, saying Eden Elementary's roof is nearly complete and the district is preparing for additional work on drainage, sidewalks and parking. He described two possible propositions for a December public vote: Prop 1, a roughly $23 million project intended to continue renovations (including targeted air-conditioning) and structured in the superintendent's words as "no additional cost to taxpayers" in the way it is being framed; and Prop 2, a pared-down multiuse athletic-fields proposal that would be contingent on Prop 1 passing.
Board members raised questions about millings staged on site and whether those materials could be reused as parking or subbase; the superintendent said millings disposition is governed by the contractor contract and may be reused as subbase if included in contractual terms. A trustee noted a working estimate for a turf/athletic fields plan discussed in a prior meeting was roughly $10–10.5 million; the superintendent cautioned costs are subject to escalation and said, if approved by voters, construction would likely begin around 2029.
