Don Sutton elected president; Jen Horschel named vice president of Eden board

The Eden Board of Education reorganized its leadership at the start of its meeting, voting to appoint Don Sutton as board president and Jen Horschel as vice president.
Board member Jack Cudahy moved to appoint Sutton as president; the motion was seconded and carried. The chair administered the oath of office to Sutton, who repeated the pledge to support the U.S. and New York State constitutions. After Sutton’s oath, a board member quipped, "Gavel back in its rightful place." The board then nominated, voted for and swore in Jen Horschel as vice president.
The reorganizational votes took place at the start of the business meeting, which also included the approval of the consent agenda and several superintendent-recommended personnel items. The board set its next regular meeting for Aug. 10, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the Eden Middle School/High School library.
