The Jamesville-DeWitt Board of Education completed its annual reorganization on July 13, electing Sharon Archer as board president and Lynn Cortese as vice president.
The board accepted nominations that were read aloud and closed the nomination window before voting by hand/voice. "That is a majority, so Sharon is now our president of the board of education," the presiding official said after the count. Sharon Archer then took the oath of office. Later, Lynn Cortese was declared vice president and read the oath.
The board also administered oaths to two newly appointed members, David Babakin and Dominic Dimperio, and to ex officio student board member Evan Wagner Flynn. The board president then presided over the remainder of the meeting.
