The district reported at its annual safety hearing that it has incorporated Disha's Law into building‑level emergency plans and is now in compliance.
At the start of the meeting, Mr. Watson summarized the annual requirement: "The biggest change as part of NYSEDD law in September 2025, we're required to incorporate Disha's law, which is a cardiac arrest response plan into our district wide building level safety plans. We've done that. We submitted the plan. It was accepted. We are now in compliance with it." He told the board that aside from language updates and contact info, there were no major revisions.
Officials also reported that the district completed required drills this year — including lockdown and fire drills — and conducted its annual review of the workplace violence prevention plan; no incidents were reported. The district said the workplace plan review led to no changes and was "a pretty quick review." The safety hearing is an annual requirement and the board opened the floor to questions before moving on to other agenda items.
