Board President Arthur introduced the three candidates running for three seats on the Jamesville‑DeWitt Board of Education. Dr. Andrew Nolan said he has more than 15 years in education, has served as a high‑school and elementary principal and currently works as an assistant superintendent; he said he wants to listen and learn from community members. "I'm a long time educator... looking forward to engaging, listening, learning, community members during this process," Nolan said.
Dominic D'Imperio described his background practicing education law and labor relations and said he hopes that experience advising boards and negotiating collective bargaining agreements will be useful on the board. Incumbent Dave Abakan said he has served one term on the board, has 28 years of teaching experience, chairs or sits on several board committees and also serves as a full‑time union president outside the district; he said he hopes to continue contributing board experience to district governance. The board reminded voters the election and budget vote are scheduled for May 19; no endorsements or formal debates occurred during the introductions.
