The Laurens Central School Board closed the 30-day public hearing on the district-level Project SAVE plan at its June 17 meeting, recording that the only changes were to the Building Principal name and an update to the annual review date for the district Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
The board did not make substantive policy changes at the hearing and recorded that final approval of the District-Level SAVE Plan will be on the agenda for the board's July 15, 2026 meeting. The minutes say the district will submit the finalized district plan to the New York State Education Department within 30 days of adoption and share building-level emergency response plans with local and state law enforcement as required by Commissioner's Regulation 155.17. Administrators also noted the district's intention to continue annual staff and student training and coordinate drills with local emergency responders.
