Board reviews opioid fund coordinator job description, advisory committee plan

Commissioner Wolfson and staff presented a draft job description for an opioid fund coordinator to manage the county’s special opioid fund. Wolfson emphasized that the coordinator position would be funded from the opioid fund—not the general fund—and proposed forming an advisory committee composed of law enforcement, a person with lived experience, school representatives, EMS/fire, a county board member and the county administrator for financial oversight.

Commissioners discussed offering a per diem for volunteer advisory members to improve participation and suggested inviting representatives from local schools and Northern Lakes partners. Several commissioners emphasized hiring someone experienced in collective-impact models who can pull stakeholders together; others said lived-experience representation should be on the advisory board but not necessarily a hiring requirement for coordinator duties. Wolfson said the job description would be revised and circulated by e-mail before the next meeting.
