Board approves technology and procurement items including Police CAD/RMS and fleet systems

At its April 20 meeting, the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees approved several procurement items that had been listed on the consent agenda and some that were pulled for separate votes. The purchases include a GPS Fleet Management System for yellow and white fleet operations (not to exceed $2,000,000 over five years), handheld two-way radios and equipment (not to exceed $865,200 over five years), digital radios and airtime services (not to exceed $700,000 over five years), clinic supplies and equipment (not to exceed $2,000,000 over five years), and physical education uniforms and spirit apparel (not to exceed $3,000,000 over five years). These items were authorized with motions that delegate execution authority to the superintendent as specified in the agenda language.

Separately, the board unanimously approved purchase of a Police Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System from Versaterm Public Safety US, Inc. for up to $815,650 over five years under an HGAC cooperative contract. The recorded motions specify cooperative purchasing and multi-year not-to-exceed amounts; procurement staff were authorized to negotiate and execute agreements.
