Student board member Logan asked why the scoreboard cannot be used for JV home football games when other teams in the division use one. Logan said families and players would like to see the score displayed at JV games.
Board members and staff explained that Section 2 refereeing rules require an official to run the scoreboard and JV contests typically do not pay for that additional official. Speaker 6 explained, "It's a section 2 reffing issue. They have to have a ref on... JV does not pay for an additional ref to run the scoreboard. That's why." The Board asked District official (Speaker 4) and staff (Speaker Ticelli referenced) to check whether an alternative could provide score display without violating officiating rules.
