District tables insurance, CESA contract and food service decisions as budget planning follows referendum loss

Following the failed referendum, the board tabled action on health insurance renewal, dental and vision renewals, a CESA 10 service contract, and food service decisions to allow staff to revisit costs during budget preparation.
District Administrator Nancy Popp presented a health insurance renewal and options and said staff should determine whether the renewal cost can be reduced or whether the board should re-open the bid process. Dental and vision renewals showed no increase but were also tabled. The board tabled decisions on these benefits until next month to incorporate them into budget planning after the referendum defeat.
The board also reviewed a proposed 2026–27 service contract with CESA 10 and discussed shared services for the library and IT with Loyal; those items were tabled while staff work with CESA and local administrators on adjustments. Food service was likewise tabled to allow alignment with the district’s budget-development process.
