The Granton Area School District board accepted certificates of election for two write-in winners and administered an oath to Daniel Schoessow at its April 20 meeting. District Administrative Assistant Char Johnson explained the canvass process, which counted all write-in votes when no names appeared on the ballot.
Johnson reported the top vote-getters as Daniel Schoessow (88 votes), Theresa Hasz (75), Mark Elmhorst (52) and Samuel Modjewski (37). Theresa Hasz had previously taken her Oath of Office; Schoessow took his at the meeting. The district confirmed both new trustees’ terms begin Monday, April 27, 2026.
The canvass and subsequent oaths follow state election procedures for filling vacant board seats by write-in results. Board President Sheryl Young and other members remained in their roles until the new terms begin April 27.
