Board assigns short‑term rental inspections to code enforcement

Supervisors reviewed a short‑term rental (STR) update and directed inspections be performed by the Code Enforcement Officer. Zoning/Planning discussion noted two permitted STR properties — one inspected by a third party and one still pending inspection — and that non‑conforming certificates are required but do not require a hearing. Brent Green described the two different regulatory tracks (a zoning special‑exception hearing and an annual registration) and said he planned to issue notices of violation for zoning and registration where appropriate, copying the zoning officer, the secretary‑treasurer and the board.

Supervisor Mike Takerer moved and Supervisor Ian Farrell seconded to appoint the Code Enforcement Officer to perform the inspections under the Short‑Term Rental Ordinance; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record the board's intent to enforce both zoning and registration requirements and to pursue civil complaints (for zoning) and non‑traffic citations (for registration) as enforcement tools.
