Route 117 culvert replacement on schedule; Duck Pond Bridge work to continue into fall

Public works updates to the board included the Route 117 culvert replacement, where staff reported utility relocations and the successful tie-in of a new water main; the project was described as on schedule for an early September completion. Rob said the remaining major task was placement of the new culvert (a crane operation) followed by ancillary work.

Rob also described a more extensive Route 120 pedestrian-walkway project and the Duck Pond Bridge replacement. He said demolition has begun, old wooden supports are being removed, and new concrete-and-steel supports will be placed before three prebuilt decking platforms are delivered in approximately 6–8 weeks; he estimated the work could be complete by November. Board members asked for more regular updates because the walkway project is more complex and had been delayed previously when bids were rejected.
