Trustees Pringle and Stein honored as they conclude board service; colleagues, community speak

The board recognized two trustees who are concluding their service this month. Trustee Shivani Pringle was acknowledged for three years on the board and for chairing the curriculum and policy committee. Trustee Mark Stein was honored for more than 13 years on the board and for prior service on the Hackensack City Council.
Trustee Pringle said she is stepping down to assist family and grandchildren and expressed gratitude for colleagues and the community. Trustee Stein described his decision as a transition rather than a response to the district's financial situation and thanked staff and community members for decades of shared work. Several trustees and community members gave tributes, and the board noted upcoming recognition events and the presentation of a formal resolution honoring the late athletic director, Gordon “Scooter” Whiting Jr., at the sports banquet.
