Council members report on outreach, trails, postal service concerns and SNAP impacts

Council members used their reports to highlight a range of community issues. One council member asked staff to add columns to an HOA-tracking spreadsheet to capture attendance, concerns and whether properties requested fire assessments; others described a well-attended "coffee with council" event and a recent basin cleanup that recovered large quantities of trash. Council encouraged consistent scheduling and outreach for community engagement events.

Several members raised operational concerns: extended lines and service delays at local post offices and possible staffing shortages, and county- and state-level SNAP changes that may reduce safety-net funding. Members also discussed interactions with the U.S. Forest Service over planned trail closures and said they would continue to press for public-access protections. Mayor and staff committed to follow-up on these items and to circulate schedules for future community meetings and the manager-evaluation process.
