Board approves $34,000 Activity Hero MOU for expanded‑learning attendance tracking

The board approved a memorandum of understanding to adopt Activity Hero as the expanded‑learning attendance and sign‑out platform. Presenters described Activity Hero as a live attendance tool that allows program leaders to take minute‑by‑minute attendance, capture parent digital signatures on sign‑outs, and provide time‑stamped records that help allocate staff and funding to sites. Staff said the annual cost is $34,000 and will be paid from the Expanded Learning budget.

Supporters said Activity Hero reduces the need to grant Aeries access to partner providers while giving program leaders a simpler, live attendance interface. "This attendance platform will allow our program leaders to have access to attendance without everything else that comes with Aeries," a presenter said. The board discussed data access and staff described a plan where attendance records flow to district systems while limiting sensitive student data exposure. The motion to approve the MOU passed unanimously and staff said they will proceed with implementation and training for providers and program leaders.
