Superintendent reports delays on fiber project, progress on gym floors and fields

Superintendent Jerrad Jeske provided a facilities and operations update at the July 29 meeting. He said the Fiber Optic Project remains delayed because of the E-Rate funding process and is not expected to be completed this summer. He also reported that sound panels have arrived and will be installed once gym floors finish drying, the elementary fence project is complete with gates, and baseball field improvements are nearly finished with the contractor scheduled to return to complete remaining items.
Jeske acknowledged maintenance staff work and specifically recognized volunteer Randy Knigge for his contributions. "Jerrad Jeske thanked the outstanding maintenance staff, and especially Randy Knigge, who continues to volunteer two full days each week to help maintain our school grounds," the minutes state. The district also reported that a new cooling tower motor was installed in the elementary building and is operating well, and that Allied Fire recently repaired an elementary fire panel that had been giving issues.
