District recognizes long-serving employees and student achievements

The Liberty School District Board used part of its meeting to recognize staff and students. Superintendent and board members named employees for years of service — Melissa Gebay (bus barn, 8 years), Barb Cressy (26 years) and Mrs. Berry (43 years) — and thanked them publicly for their long contributions to the district.
Board members also highlighted student and extracurricular achievements. A state softball finish, several athletes qualifying for state competitions and band and FFA accomplishments were noted. Mr. Sayers thanked volunteers and families for supporting events such as teacher appreciation week, TK orientation, a Mobius science visit and a well-attended kindergarten through sixth-grade orientation night.
Superintendent and principals also previewed upcoming events: 8th grade promotion on June 9 at 7 p.m., field day on June 10, and graduation set for June 6 (arrival 12:45; ceremony 1:00). The board encouraged community participation and thanked donors and volunteers for supporting school visits and programs.
The recognitions were presented as part of routine reports and no formal actions were required.
