Board names Susan McAfee Chair Pro Tem in 3–0 vote

The Town of Casaub Board of Adjustment on Aug. 6 appointed Susan McAfee as Chair Pro Tem following nominations taken in the absence of the chair and vice chair. The board recorded the appointment by roll-call vote with three members voting in favor and none opposed.

The nomination process opened after the meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. One board member said, "I nominate myself," and another board member seconded the nomination. The presiding officer announced that the nomination of Susan McAfee passed "by a vote of 3 to 0" and then proceeded with routine business. Staff confirmed the meeting and agenda had been noticed under the Open Meetings Law before the minutes were approved.

The board proceeded despite a limited quorum: Vice Chair Bandimere Jordan and Board Member Moore were recorded as absent. The board approved the previous meeting minutes and was told staff expects to have a fuller agenda and quorum at the Sept. 3 meeting. The Board adjourned at approximately 6:10 p.m.
