Board approves tax warrant and directs signatures to record levy

Paul (staff) told the board the tax warrant implements the levy approved in the budget and provides a town-by-town breakdown in the packet. He said the district needs all board members present to sign the warrant during the meeting so the approval is on record. "It breaks down town by town so that you have a breakdown in the packet that you received," Paul said, noting penalties and due-date information are included on the bill.
Paul also described an administrative change for tax collection: the town tax collector resigned for health reasons, so the district arranged a lockbox with Lions National Bank to accept payments in person or by mail. After discussion the board moved to approve the resolution and members voted in favor; Paul or district staff will collect board signatures before the meeting adjourned.
