During its regular meeting, the Board of Education reviewed its annual self-evaluation rubric and discussed ratings across multiple governance standards. Several members recommended marking Standard 3 (community engagement) as "developing," noting that current outreach often reaches the same cohort of parents and that the district should pursue new avenues to engage a broader demographic.
One board member urged improved documentation and communication: "strengthening documentation of stakeholder feedback, response tracking, and then, the board superintendent communication strategy, I think, is great," the member said, calling for clearer benchmarks and follow-up. The board agreed to address these items in an upcoming summer retreat and to prepare revised indicators for the next school year rather than rewriting overall goals.
