Council approves Fort Gallagher pool fee changes after $10,000 foundation donation

The Common Council approved Resolution 163 (as amended) to adopt a new fee schedule for Fort Gallagher Pool. Mayor Corradino recognized a $10,000 donation from the Shinnaman Foundation that he said would help offset operating costs and allow resident admission to be set at $0 and nonresident admission at $2 under the amended resolution.

Council members who spoke in favor described committee work that sought to balance staff concerns and access for families. One councilor said the solution would require additional seasonal staff (a CSO) and a wristband check-in system to ensure pool rules and capacity were managed; another emphasized support for the administration's efforts to provide accountable management while keeping the pool broadly accessible to children and residents. The roll call on the amended resolution recorded unanimous approval, 7–0.
