The Conneaut School District Board approved the July 2026 treasury reports and multiple bill payments during the Aug. 12 meeting. The motion to approve general fund bills, capital projects and cafeteria food service bills passed with several recorded no votes from members who said they had procurement concerns.
A resident, Kurt Dennis, asked the board to review specific entries in the bills packet, singling out a $21,172.92 payment to Amazon and asking if the district sought multiple quotes for purchases. He said: "Why the school is paying $21,172.92 to Amazon" and asked whether contracts and quoting practices should be revisited. Separately, a board member questioned whether several purchases had been bid properly and said they could not support approving bills without answers.
The board carried the financial approvals but recorded dissenting votes and asked staff to note questions raised for follow-up. No immediate reversal of payments was recorded; staff said they would follow up on procurement questions raised during discussion.
