The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District Board of Education elected Nancy Castro Divani as board president and Michael Schindler as vice president during its reorganization session. Miss Walsh called for nominations and, after a voice vote, "It is my pleasure to declare that Nancy Castro Divani has been elected as board president," the clerk said, and later "It is my pleasure to declare that Michael Schindler has been elected as board vice president." The board recorded the motion as passed by majority and unanimous voice votes in successive ballots.
The oaths of office were announced and Miss Sadowski, identified in the meeting as the district attorney, was introduced to administer the oath. President Castro Divani then presided over the remainder of the reorganization business, moving quickly into approval of officer appointments and other organizational designations recommended by the superintendent.
