During the business-item approvals, a board member asked about a change order for Servwell Electric. Administration described an unforeseen condition at Vernon Phase 3: the main fire-alarm panel failed and could not be fixed on site, so the panel required emergency replacement. "The fire alarm panel had to be replaced. It was emergency in nature," administration said, and noted the work had to be done within 24 hours.
Officials told the board the accounting impact had already been addressed and the change-order paperwork is being finalized for state reporting. The board approved the change order by voice vote; administrators said the action did not affect the district's remaining fund balances because it had been accounted for in prior steps.
