District recommends canceling JV lacrosse teams after low sign-ups

Superintendent Dr. Yanni told the board he regrettably must recommend cancellation of the JV boys and JV girls lacrosse teams for spring 2026 after registration failed to reach required numbers despite outreach and open registration through the previous Monday. "I'm recommending, the cancellation of the JV lacrosse boys and JV lacrosse girls for the spring 20 26," he said, and asked the board for approval to notify Section 8 of the decision while the administration prepares a formal recommendation and resolution for the next meeting.
Board members voiced informal agreement to move forward with notifying the league; Dr. Yanni noted he would bring a formal resolution at the following meeting to finalize the cancellation and any related adjustments to scheduling or staffing.
