Finance staff explained Universal Pre-K (UPK) funding and enrollment projections. The presentation stressed that UPK is grant funding and does not directly affect operating-revenue calculations; staff said the district maximized $10,000 per student for 66 students and that, after recent guidance, "we are expecting to receive $720,000 this year for our UPK program." (Finance staff reported 72 students currently enrolled in UPK.)
On kindergarten projections, administrators said BOCES projections can differ from actual registrations: a BOCES forecast cited 82 for the 2025–26 school year while the district reported 97 actual kindergartners last September. For the coming year the administration said it currently projects roughly 79 incoming kindergarten students (72 from pre-K plus seven non-UPK registrations) and will adjust section counts if registrations change before August. The board said they will post the line-by-line budget and be available for questions by email or phone.
