The board approved a slate of personnel, business and special-services items after motion, second and unanimous 'Aye' votes.
When asked whether two teachers listed in the personnel items were being excessed because of declining student need or to reduce expenditures, administrators said the decisions were made with high-school administration and guidance based on enrollment counts and projected class sizes. They emphasized no classes or programs were collapsed and that offerings remain available.
"Those were decisions were made along with the high school administration based on student enrollment counts and projected class sizes," the presenter said, noting sections were adjusted based on actual student needs. The board then moved through non-instructional personnel items, business items and special-services resolutions, each adopted after the same procedure.
