The Lansingburgh Central School District Board of Education on June 1 heard a presentation about the district's partnership with Hudson Valley Community College that allows Lansingburgh High School students to take college-level classes for credit.
Greg Rashford, the district's Director of Guidance and Chief Information Officer, introduced representatives from Hudson Valley Community College, who explained that "The credits our students earn through the program can count toward certificate or degree programs at HVCC. They can also transfer to most other colleges and universities." Board members heard that the program gives high-school students an opportunity to earn college credit while enrolled at LHS.
Board President Andrea Fairhurst presided over the meeting and noted the presentation followed routine opening business and the district's mission statement. The board did not take formal action on the presentation during the special meeting; the transcript records the presentation as informational.
