VDOT briefs supervisors on resurfacing contracts and draft secondary six‑year plan

A Virginia Department of Transportation official briefed Nottoway supervisors on multiple road projects, bidding outcomes and the county’s draft secondary six‑year plan. The presenter said a bid for a roundabout at Main Gate/Fort Pickett had been rejected after receiving a single proposal and that the project had been re‑advertised with a closing date of May 29. He reported ongoing slurry seal and surface treatment contracts on secondary routes and indicated two top projects — Williamson Road (a rural‑rustic project) and an associated project — are fully funded and moving toward construction authorization.
