Board members heard a facilities update at the Dec. 11 meeting noting safety issues with interior Career and Technical Education (CTE) doors and the doors leading from Umatilla High School to the CTE building. The minutes state that the doors "do not have windows and it's caused some injuries. The district will be adding windows to prevent people from accidentally pushing doors into individuals on the other side of the door."
Board Member Jon Lorence outlined the process the district will follow to add windows and address the safety concern. The work is intended to reduce the risk of accidental collisions when people open or pass through doors between instructional spaces.
