Umatilla board moves February meeting so superintendent can attend in person

The Umatilla School District Board voted on Jan. 15 to move its scheduled February meeting to Thursday, Feb. 19, at the usual time so Superintendent Heidi Sipe could attend in person. Board Member Toby Cranston made the motion and Board Member Josiah Barron seconded; the motion passed unanimously (5-0).
Superintendent Heidi Sipe had notified the board she would be attending an AASA conference on the originally scheduled date. Board members said they preferred the superintendents in-person attendance for routine oversight and discussion; no changes to the meeting time were recorded. The new meeting date was noted in board minutes and the next regular meeting remains Feb. 19, 2026.
