The Umatilla School District Board voted unanimously on Feb. 19 to approve updated job descriptions for several administrative positions, including Principal, Middle School Vice Principal/Athletic Director, High School Dean of Students, and High School Vice Principal.
Board Member Travis Eynon expressed reservations about combining roles and the potential workload implications, saying he supported the superintendent’s decision despite his concerns. The motion to approve the job-description updates was made by Board Member Toby Cranston and seconded by Board Member Steve Warr; the vote was recorded as 7–0 in favor.
The meeting minutes show the board treated the changes as an administrative implementation matter; no amendment or tabling motion was recorded. Staff will proceed with implementing the revised job descriptions under the superintendent’s direction.
