The Umatilla School District Board voted unanimously on June 11 to adopt a comprehensive K–12 social studies curriculum.
Board Member Travis Eynon moved to adopt the curriculum as presented; Jorge Meza seconded the motion. The approved materials list includes an independent adoption for K–4, Impact Social Studies (digital) for 5th grade, McGraw-Hill World History 1 and 2 and U.S. History titles for grades 6–8, and McGraw-Hill Oregon-adopted World History, United States History and Civics titles for grades 9–12 with implementation noted in 2027.
The adoption authorizes district staff to proceed with procurement and classroom implementation planning. The motion passed 6–0 with no recorded dissent.
