The Milton-Freewater Unified School District 7 board convened a special meeting on June 9 at Freewater School, called to order by Board Chairman Tim McElrath at 6:30 p.m. The board confirmed a quorum and moved into executive session under ORS 192.660(2)(b) and (f) to consider discipline/complaints and exempt records. Media representatives were asked to keep the executive-session matters confidential.
After returning to open session the board considered two complaint-related items. For each complaint the board voted to take no further action under Step 3 of the district complaint procedure (KL/GBM/JFC-AR), adopted the superintendent's written decisions as final, and delegated authority to the chair to issue the required written decisions. In the second matter, the board additionally directed the superintendent to review a student's expense account status to ensure correct accounting and resolution. Both motions were seconded and recorded as unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m.; the next regular meeting is June 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Freewater School.
