Facilities Manager Joe Motta presented a capital projects update and recommended proceeding with high-priority HVAC and ADA work. He said units in the art room, wood shop, metal shop and weight room were replaced during spring break and that the gym lobby unit is still in progress. Mr. Motta said staff and students reported feeling unsafe in a restroom and a facility inspection identified the need for an ADA-accessible restroom.
Mr. Motta said an updated quote to add air conditioning to the high school gym came in at $60,000 and recommended proceeding; he said HVAC and ADA upgrades make up a major part of the capital budget. He also reported the district received a TAP grant for a long-range facility plan and that a Renew America grant will fund HVAC upgrades and windows at Canyonville.
