Finance update: district reports $10.2M revenue to date; marquee quotes prompt RFP recommendation

Finance staff presented the monthly revenue and expenditures update and walked the board through several capital projects.
"You can see so far that we have recorded 10,200,000 so far in our revenue," the finance presenter said (speaker 4). He noted the figure did not include county postings for March, which will be added when the county completes its reports. On expenditures, the presenter said spending has been managed and is only about $67,000 more than this point last year, including salary increases.
On capital projects, the presenter said the White House project is complete and media-center furniture at the elementary school was delayed until June. He reported contractor quotes for four digital marquees totaled $250,000, far above an earlier $40,000-per-location estimate, and recommended issuing an RFP to seek better pricing. The board acknowledged the recommendation and asked staff to pursue additional bids.
