Following a motion and second, the board voted by voice to approve the hiring of Mark Davis as assistant principal at Edgewood Middle School and Will Crawford as a special-education teacher (noted as coming from Greenwood School District 50). The superintendent also reported other approved hires across athletics and support positions and listed several openings the district still needs to fill.
"The board has approved the hiring of Mark Davis as the assistant principal at Edgewood Middle School," Miss Cathy said after the vote and explained Mark Davis will replace Wesley Carlisle, who is leaving for another district. The board also approved Will Crawford for a special-education teacher role and administrators said they would continue recruiting to fill remaining vacancies for a primary-school teaching assistant, bus drivers and food-service staff.
