Superintendent Dr. Taylor updated the board on two initiatives under consideration. Mr. Scofield provided a Cognia accreditation update, describing the accreditation timeline and the district's preparation: Greenwood 52 is nearing the end of its five-year Cognia cycle and the on-site evaluation window is expected next school year, with much of the review now conducted virtually. Dr. Taylor separately said the state has grant money available for the Leader in Me program that would cover three years of participation before the district would decide whether to continue.
"Cognia is probably gonna be a, kind of a monthly update for you guys," Mr. Scofield said, and he noted that interviews and documentation will be part of the virtual review process. Dr. Taylor summarized Leader in Me: she said principals asked about the program, "there's grant money available through the state and that that it would be free to us for 3 years," and the district will explore implementation details over the summer rather than beginning during the current term.
