Board recognizes Beta Club, Stock Market Game finishers and middle-school junior scholars

At its meeting the Greenwood 52 board honored multiple student achievement groups across elementary and middle schools. An elementary representative recognized Beta Club members who placed at the state convention and qualified for the National Beta Convention in Nashville, citing individual placements across academic and performing-arts categories. The board also congratulated fifth-grade teams that competed in the statewide Stock Market Game; one team (Kenley Fernandez, Adeline Trotter and Annabeth Walker) placed third in the state and was recognized in Columbia on May 1.
"We are proud to recognize our junior betas for an outstanding accomplishment at the state convention held in January," an elementary-school presenter said, and the sponsors called students forward by name. Edgewood Middle School students who met PSAT thresholds for junior scholar status were likewise acknowledged, with names and scores announced to the board. Families and students were invited to take part in a brief ring presentation and to a reception following the recognitions.
