Board approves student fundraisers and authorizes grant application

The board approved several student-activity fundraisers proposed to benefit school programs, including a pancake breakfast and a Feb. 28 fundraiser at the High School Commons to support the High School Musical. The administration recommended approval of the events and asked the board to proceed unless a member objected.
On the grant front, the administration recommended permission to apply for a National Junior Arts Society (NAASST) student service grant at the district's schools and the board made a motion to authorize submission of that application. "Mister and missus Wingham, National Junior Arts Society advisement for requesting permission to apply for the NAASST student service grant," the administration said when presenting the request to the board.
