The Big Spring School District held its annual organization meeting on Dec. 2, 2025, where newly elected or reelected directors were formally announced and sworn in. The board read certificates of election naming Julie Booth, Benjamin Brown, Lisonbee Malott and John Wardle to four-year terms; the presiding officer then administered the oath of office and asked members to complete required paperwork for the board secretary.
After swearing in members, the board elected a temporary president from holdover members to conduct the organization meeting, then conducted roll-call votes to elect a permanent president and vice president for one-year terms. The newly elected president assumed the chair and continued to lead the meeting. The board also approved proposed committee assignments as published on the agenda and combined personnel action items (11a–11c) into a single block motion for approval. "We will try to provide them with unity, trust, and respect as we serve in this office," one board member said during the handoff to the new president.
The organization meeting adjourned so the board could immediately convene its regular business meeting for the evening.
