Donna Lentz reviewed the district budget timeline and key statutory dates. She reminded homeowners that Dec. 31 triggers Homestead/Farmstead notices and that the county application deadline for homeowners not already enrolled is March 1.
Lentz noted the board had already adopted the tax-index resolution at a prior meeting because the district accepted adequacy money and therefore cannot exceed the Act 1 index if that assistance is accepted. She asked the board to consider approving a proposed final budget no later than May 18 (preferably May 4) and adopt a final budget by June 30 (preferably June 8) to allow timely tax-bill processing before July 1.
Board members acknowledged the timeline and scheduled the next finance committee meeting for March 16 to continue budget work.
