The Big Spring School District board approved an amendment to Policy 004 on Oct. 20 to clarify when a director’s eligibility ends if they move. The amendment adds the phrase "or the region he/she represents," ensuring the policy covers both district residency and the smaller region that a director may represent.
"Whenever a school director is no longer a resident of Big Spring School District or the region he, she represents, his, her eligibility to serve on the board shall cease," a board member proposed during debate; the amendment was seconded and approved by the board. President Mr. Lovell announced that Policy 004 passed with the added language, and the revised policy will be published with the change.
