Dr. Bowser provided a federal programs update at the Nov. 13 meeting, highlighting Title I family engagement and Title IV student projects.
"Title 1 family engagement, our Barnes and Noble night was a huge success," Dr. Bowser said, and noted that the credit received will be used to buy books for the district’s Reading Olympics team. Mr. Nastasi, reporting on Title I work, said: "So far, 74 out of 82, of our seniors, which is 90 percent, already have a path for post graduation plans." He enumerated intended post‑graduation paths and announced that Bucks County Community College received a grant — described in the meeting as over $1,000,000 — to support dual‑enrollment classes and book costs for Bristol and Morrisville students; 52 students are currently enrolled in the dual‑enrollment program and fall classes and books will be paid for that semester. The report also included teacher professional development, restorative‑practices training with Devereaux and scheduled parent conferences on Nov. 25–26.
The board did not take formal action on the federal program items at the meeting; staff said they will continue to implement programming and notify families about upcoming events.
